I want African Nova Scotian Students to feel valued and supported at school and know their culture and experience that they matter.
What do I enjoy most about your role ?
Building connections with students and seeing them become more confident. I like being someone they can talk to and helping them feel supported and proud of who they are.
What would you most like families to know about the role of African Nova Scotian Student Support Worker in HRCE Schools ?
As an African Nova Scotian Student Support Worker, I am someone that a student can come to for encouragement, help with their concerns or just a simple conversation. I also work with families and school staff to support students academically, socially and culturally. Families are welcome to reach out, there doesn't have to be a problem for us to connect.
